The clients requested a logo that illuminated this spirited name and specifically asked for a yolk or egg to be featured in the position of the letter O, in the word Yolk. Creating a hierarchy within the logo allowed for the word Yolk to hold more power. Rightfully so, most people have come to know the establishment as simply “Yolks.”
Having the egg reflected in the word definitely allows for whimsical applications when it comes to promotional materials and even the building itself. When asked to help envision the building and signage as a whole, pulling the egg as a focal point for the side of the building was a great way to invite customers from afar.
In the era of masks, the egg also softens the harsh look of face coverings as servers greet customers and take food orders. In addition, their promo items such as hats, frisbees, and even their receipts consistently push the brand forward with this friendly logo on display.
Throughout the process of this concept, there were several logo explorations. Ultimately landing on the one that felt most lively, these two options were close contenders.
